Ubuntu Worldschool hub – October 2025!

13th October to 28th October 2025

We are happy to announce a special World Schooling hub happening this October in Cantabria, Spain!

Espacio Ubuntu, The Social Circle, and Finca Los Manitos collaborate to co-create an amazing experience in this case with base at Finca Los Manitos, a residential space with various accomodation options and many services in the middle of the beautiful town of Alceda, in Valles Pasiegos, Cantabria.

We are calling now for all interested families to join us in an amazing WorldSchooling Experience in Cantabria. Our hub is located in the middle of the Pasiego Valleys, a lush and green environment, full of opportunities to enjoy nature, connect with the locals and experience everything our ecosystem has to offer. 25 minutes away from the beach, 35 minutes away from Santander, this area feels like the perfect spot to host such an experience!

WORLDSCHOOLING

Not all classrooms are confined by four walls. Worldschooling turns the world itself into an educational environment. Think of it as an extended field trip where learning happens naturally through travel, rather than solely relying on textbooks or screens in a traditional classroom setting.

In this approach, history lessons come alive with visits to museums or historical landmarks, geography is explored by wandering through cities and villages, and language skills are honed by ordering meals in the local tongue or playing with local children at a park. Being exposed to spirituality might involve stepping into temples or mosques, while physical education could be surfing lessons or hiking up a mountain.

Worldschooling doesn’t follow a strict, universal curriculum. Some families adopt a child-led learning style, often associated with unschooling, while others prefer a structured approach aligned with homeschool curriculums and daily schedules. It’s entirely up to the parents to decide how they integrate education into their travels.

Many parents opt for online learning platforms to cover core subjects like math, English, or science, allowing professionals to handle the instruction. Beyond that, everyday adventures like visiting markets, cultural sites, or historical landmarks spark organic questions and conversations. In these moments, parents and the broader community often step in as facilitators, encouraging curiosity and deeper exploration.

By blending formal education with real-world experiences, worldschooling creates a unique and dynamic way of learning that goes beyond the limits of traditional schooling.

OUR ESSENCE

The Social Circle and Espacio Ubuntu are two nonprofit organizations that work to bring about positive change in society, through educational programmes, transformational events, community experiences and so on. Our co-living responds to the same calling. If you come to spend time with us you can expect a lot of conversations about inner and social change, meditation, yoga, nature walks, project inspiration etc. We are in a path of exploring how to leave the world a better place, and we continue to do that through our local projects but also through collaborations with development organizations in India, South America and Ghana.

We are a team of community-loving people. We are changemakers, activists, educators, seekers and doers, nature lovers and citizens of the world who have committed their lives to fostering relationships through selfless acts of service above all else. To us, this hub is one of the puzzle pieces that respond to our call for community, compassion and generosity. We are looking to change the narrative of a consumeristic world and move towards a world where all kinds of offering is accepted as forms of currency. Imagine a world where every child could feel like they have something to offer, somewhere to create impact. Imagine the belongingness and the confidence that would bring to our children, when they know they can serve, no matter their circumstance. For the facilitators this hub is where seeds of such transformation happen and where children awaken to their innate humanity.

OUR OFFERING

We are working in facilitating the emergence of communities and social wealth around the world, and these World Schooling Hubs feel like a natural step for us. We are now working with a Waldorf teacher who can facilitate transformative learning journeys for the kids, providing the knowledge and skills we need to create a whole-family beautiful and transformational experience.

We want to co-create this with you, so we are happy to know more about your priorities and stories before you decide to join us! You can fill this form without commitment and we can have a call with you to get to know each other and discuss all the questions and ideas you might have! Let’s do this!

You can join 1 week or for the whole time of each hub, and you can also reserve for future HUBs as well.

COST

Part of our essence as organizations is to explore ways in which we can make economy more inclussive by designing pricing and contribution systems that allow for socio-economic diversity to access every service and experience. In a world where relationships are usually set back by the influence of the market, we want to double down on love and connection as the main forces of our work. This is why we designed this contribution system, where families that have greater financial capacity today can do a higher contribution, others with average income can do an market based contribution and those with lowest income can still access this experience contributing less.
You can check all the reference contributions here: Contributions WorldSchooling Hub – Cantabria 2026 Ubuntu-Los Manitos
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU! LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION AND/ OR SUGGESTION, AND DO NOT FORGET TO FILL THE INITIAL FORM AND WE WILL ARRANGE A CALL SOON! WE ARE EXCITED TO MEET YOU AND GO THROUGH THIS JOURNEY TOGETHER!

IN THEIR WORDS – PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES!

“One of the most inspiring aspects of our time at Ubuntu was the collective nature of decision making. Everyone’s voice, children and adults alike, mattered. This naturally led to a lot of learning about cross cultural communication, not always easy but always respectful. I loved watching the children connect with others from different parts of the world, navigating not only language differences but also different ways of doing things.”
Sarah wrote a whole blog on her experience with us. Read on here!

We loved the Ubuntu Worldschooling Hub! We joined the June 2025 hub and can’t wait to go back! The community spirit at PAS Co-living Space was truly amazing — connecting families through meaningful activities and fun events.
The hub was held together by the most wonderful, gentle, and fun-filled Neida, who connects with the kids through her loving personality. She always comes up with great ideas and activities during the drop-off program. The mixed-age group allows kids to learn from one another and make new friends — and parents make new friends too, of course!
I especially loved the community meals and nature walks in the beautiful valley. The beach day was amazing, too! The nearby world-heritage cave site was a true highlight and an educational family outing. Oscar and Lulu, who own the space at PAS Co-living, are full of energy and positive vibes. I hope Ubuntu hub will host many more hubs in the future.

Honestly, this worldschool experience changed our lives.
It was such a joy to see our kids playing outside with other children whenever they wanted. We really appreciated that there were activities, but no pressure at all. As parents we could join, stay for a while, or leave, and everything was okay.
Neida is a wonderful spaceholder for the kids, creating an environment where they feel free to just be and discover who they are.
I truly believe every child should have the chance to experience a worldschool hub like this!
